How to Salary Sacrifice Super and Convert Your Hourly Wage to Annual Salary

Assuming a 38-hour week and 52-week year, your annual gross pay is your hourly rate multiplied by 1,976 hours.

How to Convert Your Hourly Rate Becomes Annual Pay

To turn your hourly rate to annual pay, multiply your hourly rate × hours per week × 52 weeks. For a standard 38-hour week, that is 38 hours. For other hours, use the actual hours. The formula is: annual gross = hourly × hours per week × 52. For example, $30 per hour at 38 hours gives $30 × 38 × 52 = $59,280. Fortnightly is weekly × 2.

National Minimum Wage and Award Rates

The National Minimum Wage from 1 July 2026 is $26.44 per hour, $1,004.9 per week for 38 hours. Casual loading 25% on top gives $33.05 per hour. Award rates may be higher. See minimum wage for more.

On the timesheet, you enter base hourly rate. A checkbox adds 25% casual loading. Do not type a rate that already includes casual loading. For example, base $26.44 with loading becomes $33.05.
