Logistics Coordinator Salary in Australia: Hourly to Annual, Fortnightly, Tax and Super
A full-time logistics coordinator at Level 4 earns a minimum of $29.61 per hour, or $58,509 per year for 38 hours per week, with super paid on top.
Understanding the logistics coordinator salary in Australia
If you are a logistics coordinator or considering the role, knowing your minimum pay is essential. The logistics coordinator salary is set by the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020 (MA000084), which covers workers who coordinate shipments, manage inventory, and liaise with carriers. From 1 July 2026, the minimum hourly rate for a full-time logistics coordinator at Level 4 is $29.61 per hour. This article explains how to convert that hourly rate to annual, fortnightly, and weekly figures, and covers tax, super, and casual loading.
How the hourly rate converts to annual, weekly and fortnightly pay
The standard full-time working week in Australia is 38 hours. To estimate your annual gross pay, multiply your hourly rate by 38 hours, then by 52 weeks:
Annual gross = hourly rate × 38 × 52
For a logistics coordinator on the minimum award rate:
- $29.61 × 38 = $1,125.18 per week
- $1,125.18 × 52 = $58,509.36 per year
A fortnight is simply two weeks: $1,125.18 × 2 = $2,250.36 per fortnight before tax.
This calculation assumes you work the same 38 hours every week with no unpaid overtime, no penalty rates, no allowances, and no salary sacrifice. If you work more or fewer hours, adjust accordingly. The hourly conversion tool on this site lets you enter any hourly rate and see the annual, fortnightly and weekly equivalents.
Award coverage and minimum rates for logistics coordinators
The Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020 applies to logistics coordinators in warehousing and distribution. The Fair Work Commission publishes the Modern Awards Pay Database, which contains the official minimum rates. The Fair Work Ombudsman also provides pay guides for each award.
For a Level 4 logistics coordinator, the base rate is $29.61 per hour. This is above the National Minimum Wage of $26.44 per hour (from 1 July 2026). The award rate reflects the skill and responsibility of coordinating logistics. If you are covered by an enterprise agreement, your pay may be higher, but it cannot be less than the award minimum.
Casual loading and penalty rates
Casual logistics coordinators receive a 25% loading on top of the base rate, bringing the minimum to $37.01 per hour. This loading compensates for not receiving paid annual leave, personal leave, notice of termination, or redundancy pay. The casual loading page explains how to calculate it.
Penalty rates apply for work on weekends and public holidays. Under the award, a Level 4 permanent employee earns:
- Saturday: 1.5× base = $44.42 per hour
- Sunday: 2× base = $59.22 per hour
- Public holiday: 2.5× base = $74.03 per hour
Casual employees get the penalty rate added to their casual-loaded rate. For example, a casual working on Saturday would earn $37.01 × 1.5 = $55.52 per hour. Always check the award for exact provisions.
Tax and super considerations
Your take-home pay depends on tax and the Medicare levy. For the 2026–27 financial year, the resident tax rates are:
- Nil on the first $18,200
- 15% on income from $18,201 to $45,000
- 30% on income from $45,001 to $135,000
- 37% on income from $135,001 to $190,000
- 45% on income above $190,000
A Medicare levy of 2% generally applies. For a logistics coordinator earning $58,509 per year, the estimated tax (including Medicare) would be roughly $7,800, leaving a take-home pay of about $50,700 per year. Use the take-home pay tool for a more precise estimate.
Superannuation guarantee is 12% of ordinary earnings, paid on top of your salary. For the minimum annual salary of $58,509, that adds $7,021 in super contributions per year, up to the maximum contribution base of $270,830. Super is not included in your gross pay; it is an additional benefit. See super and packaging for details.
Using the timesheet calculator
The timesheet on this site lets you enter your base hourly rate. If you are a casual, check the box to add 25% casual loading. Do not enter a rate that already includes loading. The calculator then shows your weekly, fortnightly, and annual gross pay, along with estimated tax and super. It assumes a 38-hour week and the 2026–27 tax rates. Remember that this is an estimate; your actual pay may differ due to penalties, allowances, or enterprise agreements.
Comparing with average earnings
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, average weekly earnings for full-time adult ordinary time employees was $2,083.70 in May 2026. That equates to about $108,352 per year. A logistics coordinator on the award minimum earns less than the national average, but many coordinators with experience or in senior roles earn above the award. The average pay page has more data.
