Warehouse Supervisor Salary: How to Calculate Your Hourly, Annual, Fortnightly Pay

For a full-time warehouse supervisor working 38 hours per week, annual gross pay is the hourly rate multiplied by 38 then by 52, with super paid on top.

Understanding the Warehouse Supervisor Salary

If you are a warehouse supervisor or considering a role in warehousing, knowing how your pay is structured is essential. The term warehouse supervisor salary can mean different things depending on whether you are full-time, part-time, or casual, and whether you are covered by an award. Most warehouse supervisors in Australia are covered by the Storage Services and Wholesale Award [MA000084], which sets minimum hourly rates, allowances, and penalty rates. The Fair Work Ombudsman publishes pay guides for this award, and the Fair Work Commission maintains the Modern Awards Pay Database with detailed classification rates.

From 1 July 2026, the National Minimum Wage is $26.44 per hour (or $1,004.90 per week for 38 hours). However, a warehouse supervisor salary is almost always above this minimum because the award specifies higher rates for supervisory roles. For example, a Level 4 or Level 5 classification under the Storage Services and Wholesale Award will have a higher minimum hourly rate. To find the exact rate for your job, check the pay guides on the Fair Work Ombudsman website or use the reference tables we provide.

How to Convert Hourly Rate to Annual Salary

The standard formula for converting an hourly rate to an annual salary is:

Annual gross pay = hourly rate × hours per week × 52

We assume a full-time week of 38 hours, which is the standard under the National Employment Standards. If you work part-time, adjust the hours accordingly. For example, if your warehouse supervisor hourly rate is $30.00:

  • Weekly pay: $30.00 × 38 = $1,140.00
  • Fortnightly pay: $1,140.00 × 2 = $2,280.00
  • Annual gross: $30.00 × 38 × 52 = $59,280.00

This calculation assumes you work the same hours every week with no unpaid overtime, no penalty rates, and no allowances. It is a base estimate. Your actual pay may vary if you work weekends, public holidays, or overtime, which attract penalty rates under the award.

Casual Loading and Superannuation Paid on Top

Two important additions to your warehouse supervisor salary are casual loading and superannuation.

Casual Loading

If you are employed as a casual warehouse supervisor, you are entitled to a 25% loading on top of the base hourly rate. This compensates for not receiving paid annual leave, personal leave, or public holidays. On our timesheet, you enter your base hourly rate (the rate before loading) and then check the box to add 25% casual loading. The calculator then applies the loading to your hourly rate before calculating weekly, fortnightly, and annual figures. Never enter a rate that already includes casual loading.

Example: Base rate $30.00 per hour. With casual loading: $30.00 × 1.25 = $37.50 per hour. Annual gross (casual): $37.50 × 38 × 52 = $74,100.00.

Superannuation

Superannuation is paid on top of your ordinary earnings by your employer. The super guarantee rate from 1 July 2026 is 12% of your ordinary time earnings, up to the maximum contribution base of $270,830 per year. This means if your annual gross salary (excluding super) is $60,000, your employer contributes an additional $7,200 to your super fund. Super is not deducted from your take-home pay; it is an extra benefit.

For a casual warehouse supervisor earning $74,100 per year (including loading), the super contribution would be 12% of that amount, i.e., $8,892, making the total employment cost $83,892.

Award Coverage and Minimum Rates

Most warehouse supervisors are covered by the Storage Services and Wholesale Award [MA000084]. This award sets minimum hourly rates for different classifications, along with allowances for things like forklift operation, first aid, or working in cold storage. The Fair Work Ombudsman’s pay guide for this award is updated each year after the Annual Wage Review. From 1 July 2026, award minimum wages increased by 4.75%. You can find the current rates in the pay guides section or by using the Fair Work Commission’s Modern Awards Pay Database.

If your employer has an enterprise agreement, that agreement may set different rates, but they cannot be less than the award minimum. Always check your employment contract or agreement to confirm your correct classification and rate.

Tax and Take-Home Pay

Once you have your annual gross salary (including casual loading if applicable), you can estimate your take-home pay after tax and Medicare. For the 2026–27 income year, the resident tax rates are:

  • $0 – $18,200: Nil
  • $18,201 – $45,000: 15% for each dollar over $18,200
  • $45,001 – $135,000: 30% for each dollar over $45,000
  • $135,001 – $190,000: 37% for each dollar over $135,000
  • Over $190,000: 45% for each dollar over $190,000

Plus a Medicare levy of 2% (generally). Note that the Medicare levy reduction thresholds used here are from 2025–26 as the 2026–27 thresholds were not confirmed at the time of this estimate.

For a full-time warehouse supervisor earning $59,280 per year (no casual loading):

  • Tax: $0 on first $18,200, then 15% on $26,800 ($4,020), then 30% on $14,280 ($4,284) = total tax $8,304
  • Medicare levy: 2% of $59,280 = $1,185.60
  • Total deductions: $9,489.60
  • Take-home pay: $59,280 – $9,489.60 = $49,790.40 per year, or about $957.51 per week.

For a casual warehouse supervisor earning $74,100 per year (including loading):

  • Tax: $0 on $18,200, 15% on $26,800 ($4,020), 30% on $45,000 ($13,500), then 37% on $10,100 ($3,737) = total tax $21,257
  • Medicare levy: 2% of $74,100 = $1,482
  • Total deductions: $22,739
  • Take-home pay: $74,100 – $22,739 = $51,361 per year, or about $987.71 per week.

These are estimates only. They do not include HELP loan repayments, the Medicare levy surcharge, or salary packaging. Use our take-home pay calculator for a more personalised estimate.

Using the Timesheet for Your Warehouse Supervisor Salary

Our timesheet, which is the home page, lets you enter your base hourly rate and choose whether to add casual loading. It then calculates your weekly, fortnightly, and annual gross pay, as well as estimated tax, Medicare, and superannuation. The results are based on the 38-hour week assumption and the 2026–27 tax rates. Remember that super is shown as an employer contribution on top, not deducted from your pay.

For warehouse supervisors, it is important to know your correct classification under the award. If you are unsure, check the Fair Work Ombudsman’s Pay and Conditions Tool or refer to the minimum wage page for general guidance. The average pay page also provides benchmarks from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, such as the May 2026 average weekly earnings for full-time adults of $2,083.70 per week (ordinary time), which can give you a sense of where your warehouse supervisor salary sits in the broader market.

Disclaimer

Annual pay here is hourly rate × hours per week × 52. It assumes the same rate every week, no unpaid overtime, no penalty rates, no allowances, and no salary sacrifice. Super is estimated at 12% of ordinary earnings only, paid on top, and stops at the $270,830 maximum contribution base. Tax is the 2026–27 resident scale with the full tax-free threshold. Medicare uses the 2025–26 single reduction thresholds because the 2026–27 reduction thresholds were not confirmed here. HELP, the Medicare levy surcharge, and salary packaging are not deducted. This is an estimate, not a determination of your pay or tax.

Questions people ask next

What is the warehouse supervisor salary under the Storage Services and Wholesale Award?

The exact rate depends on the classification level in the award. The Fair Work Ombudsman’s pay guide for the Storage Services and Wholesale Award [MA000084] lists minimum hourly rates for each level. From 1 July 2026, award minimum wages increased by 4.75%, so check the current pay guide for your specific classification. The rate is typically above the National Minimum Wage of $26.44 per hour.

How is casual loading applied to a warehouse supervisor hourly rate?

Casual loading is an additional 25% on top of the base hourly rate to compensate for not receiving paid leave. On our timesheet, you enter your base hourly rate and then check the casual loading box. The calculator adds 25% to that base rate before working out annual pay. Never enter a rate that already includes casual loading.

Does superannuation come out of my warehouse supervisor salary?

No, superannuation is paid on top of your ordinary earnings by your employer. The current super guarantee rate is 12% of your ordinary time earnings, up to the maximum contribution base of $270,830 per year. So if your annual gross salary is $60,000, your employer contributes an additional $7,200 to your super fund. This is not deducted from your take-home pay.
